  1. The Trois Valses brillantes, Op contains one example of the former category (the first of the group) and two of the latter (the second and third). The third waltz of the group, the Valse brillante in F major, Op, No.3, is more rightfully deserving of the "brillante" description than its immediate predecessor.
  2. Technically flawless and stylistically beyond any doubt, in Pires' hands opuses like Sonata No.3, Mazurkas opp. 59, 63, 67 & 68, Nocturnes op, Waltzes op, Polonaise-Fantasy op are far from being dull or even dry, though none of them comes out mawkishly or virtuosity-oriented/5(17).
  3. About this Item: C.F. Peters, Leipzig, Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. (GER) Pages 49 /50 are missing affecting the last part of Waltz Op 70 No 2 and all of Op 70 No 3, as well the last page may be missing (I am unsure) some rubbing to cover edges with chips and nicks to back cover, some soiling and marking to pages, with faint watermarks to lower edge of some pages, thus.
